Mr. Carl W. Stewart, Jr., 84, of Ashley Ave. in Washington, died Feb. 3, 2010, at Heritage Health Care of Wilkes.
Mr. Stewart was a native of Taliaferro County and had lived in Washington for about 60 years. He retired from Royal Manufacturing Co., and was the widower of Gladys Dodd Stewart. He was the son of the late Carl W. Stewart, Sr. and Luna Mae Ogletree Stewart. He was a member of the Jennings Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at 2:00 at the Jennings Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Linda s. Fisher, Dunwoody and Patricia Stewart, Washington; one grandson, Ryan Fisher and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6-8pm.
