George Lafayette Hale, Jr.

October 1, 1931 - February 20, 2010

Mr. George Lafayette Hale, Jr., died Saturday evening, February 20, 2010, at the Medical College of Georgia.

Mr, Hale was born in Morristown, TN, and had lived in this community for 52 years. He was the husband of Vada King Hale. They had been married for 53 years. He was the son of the late George L. Hale, Sr. and Selma Susong Hale. Mr. Hale was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, was a retired Dairy and Beef farmer, and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church.

Mr. Hale is survived by his wife, Vada Kinf Hale, of the home; three daughters, Dr. jayna Hale (David) Newell, of Augusta, Lauara Hale (Michael) Kelly, of N. Augusta, SC, and Ann Hale (Jeff) Smith, of Siloam; three sisters, Sara Pat H. Brown, of Morristown, TN, Harriett H. Parker, of Mars Hill, NC, and June H. Clark, of Johnson City, TN; and four grandsons, Benjamin Hale Newell, Sean Michael Kelly, George Stuart Kelly, and Benjamin Jeffrey Smith.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Februray 23, 2010, at 11:00 am at the Washington First Baptisst Church with Rev. Albert Huyck and Rev. W. C. Bentley officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
