Joann Willingham Burkett

Joann Willingham Burkett,, 72, of Rayle, entered into rest Monday morning, February 15, 2021, at her sister’s home in Rayle. Joann was born in Washington and had lived in Wilkes County all of her life.She was the daughter of Reuben and Sara Frances Chafin Willingham, and was the widow of Richard Wayne Burkett.She had been a secretary at Creel’s Homes in Rayle, and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Rayle. She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Francois (Mike), of Bangs, TX, and Jennifer Glenn, of Washington; one sister, Deborah Willingham Armour (Bobby), of Rayle; eight grandchildren,Taylor, Raelee, Michael, Daniella, Dominique, Ishemia, Gregory, and Trinity; and two great grandchildren, Courtney and Dream. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hopkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Joann W. Burkett.
