Betty Dobson

Mrs. Betty Carolyn Truitt Dobson, 67, of Tignall, died December 29, 2009 in Greer, South Carolina.She was a native of Washington, Ga., the daughter of the late James W. and Florence Biffle Truitt.Mrs. Dobson was an inspector in the textile industry and a member of Tignall Independence UMC. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 11am in Tignall Independence UMC with Rev. Jenny Bestand Rev. Rich Seibert officiating.Dan Whitener, Mark Truitt, Chad Truitt, Cory Truitt, Craig Truitt and Jimmy Truitt will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include two daughters Carole Ann (Mark) Brown, Bowman and Amy (Robert) Winecoff, Greer, S.C.; four brothers, Billy Truitt, Franklin Springs, Jimmy Truitt, Jonesville, S.C., Johnny Truitt, Elberton, Charles Truitt, Dewey Rose; four grandchildren, Teddy Brown, Kayla Brown, Kierstyn Winecoff and Zachary Winecoff; one great grandchild, Taven Issac Brown. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 – 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
