Daniel Clifford Hambrick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Washington, Georgia, on Monday, June 9th, 2025 at the age of 71.

Born on November 21st, 1953, in Hemingway, South Carolina. He attended Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated in the class of 1972. During his high school years, Daniel worked at a local grocery store and after graduation he joined the United States Military.

Daniel served his country honorably in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and Manheim, Germany. His time serving in the United States Army was a testament to his dedication and commitment to his service.

Following his military service, Dan worked as a truck driver for many years. Dan drove trucks locally in the Atlanta Metro area and drove trucks nationally. He ended his career driving trucks for Crane Transport Inc. out of Gainesville, Georgia. During Dan’s time as a truck driver, he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with his colleagues.

Daniel was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Carol Buffington Hambrick, and a loving father to his three daughters: Christy Ponce (Noe) of Hoschton, GA; Candy Landers (Alan) of Mansfield, TX; and Danielle Price (John) of Washington, GA. He was a proud grandfather, known as Pop Pop, to six grandchildren: Jaycie Ponce, Hayden Ponce, Savannah Landers, Madilynn Ponce, Megan Landers, and Dallas Ponce, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also survived by his mother, Mary Miller of Hemingway, SC; two sisters, Regina Burris (Dale) and Sheila Ruechel, both of Lexington, NC; and a brother, Frank Hambrick (Joan) of Hemingway, SC; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, William Franklin Hambrick.

During Dan’s lifetime, he enjoyed collecting and listening to music from the 60s and 70s. Along with collecting music, Dan enjoyed collecting antique cars, hunting gear, and anything cowboys and indians. Upon retirement, Dan and his wife Carol made his dreams of finding a nice, quiet place in the country come true. He found his perfect place in Washington, Georgia where you could find him enjoying old black and white movies, specifically cowboy movies with his little dog Corky always by his side.
