Mr. David Olmstead, 85, of Washington, passed away Thursday evening, May 28, 2020, at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mr. Olmstead was born in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and had lived in Washington since 1976.He was a graduate of Yale University, and was the owner/manager of the John Deere Dealership in Washington. David was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder and Treasurer of the church. He is survived by his wife, Dolle Utsey Balte, of Washington; two sons, Don E. Olmstead, and wife Jill, of Charlotte, NC, and John D. Olmstead, and wife Kelly, of Columbus, OH; one daughter, Elizabeth J. (Betsy) Darden, and husband William, of Denver, CO; and seven grandchildren, John Middlebrook Olmstead, Chicago, IL, William Scott Darden, Lakewood, CO, Chandler Elizabeth Darden, NY, NY, Bennett Reed Olmstead, Charlotte, NC, Caroline Louise Darden, Charlotte, NC.and Camille Elizabeth Olmstead and Lauren Olivia Olmstead, both of Columbus, OH; additional survivors include Dolle’s two children, Mark Balte, and Elizabeth B. Flockhart, and husband William, and Dolle’s three granddaughters. Private (family only)graveside memorial services will be from 9:45am until 10:00am Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Resthaven Cemetery, followed by another memorial service to include the family and friends of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran’s organization of your choice to honor Dave and his brother, who died in the Korean Conflict.
