Mrs. Flora Ann Dunnaway McGill, 84, of N. By-Pass Rd. W., passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019, at the Southern Manor Senior Living facility in Washington. Mrs. McGill was born in Washington, GA, and had lived here all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Turpin Dunnaway, and was the wife of Sam Clary McGill.She had worked as a bookkeeper/secretary at McGills, Inc., and as the cosmetic expert at Wallace-Wynne Pharmacy in Washington. But her family will remember her mainly as the excellent homemaker, wife, and mother that she was. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Annie Spratlin Sunday School Class, and had taught Sunday School to the first and second graders there for many years.Mrs. McGill was preceded in death by five siblings; Louise D. Burt, Billy Dunnaway, Effie D. Teasley, Grace Dunnaway, and Mamie D. Durham. She is survived by her husband, Sam Clary McGill, of Washington; two sons, Sam Clary McGill,Jr., and wife Dana, of Aiken, SC, and Peyton Raymond McGill, and wife Angela, of Washington; four grandchildren, Samuel Peyton McGill II, MaryFrances Elizabeth McGill, Tyler Peyton McGill (Hanna), and Robert Dunnaway McGill; one sister, Bonnie D. Brown (Troy), of Washington; two brothers, Tom Dunnaway (Regina) and Alex Dunnaway, both of Washington; and one sister-in-law, Kathryn McGill Lamar, of Augusta. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris King officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning in the Chapel of Hopkins Funeral Home from 9:30 until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
