Mr. Gary Allen Rogers, 57, of Washingtondied July 31, 2009 at his home.He was a native of Wilkes County, the son of Marjorie Whittington Rogers and the late Rufus Allen Rogers.Mr. Rogers was a member of Tignall Baptist Church and retired Sheriff of Wilkes County. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11am in Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens with Mr. Peter Hoffman officiating.Mike Sisson, Ricky Lindsey, Howard Heitman, Butch Brooks, Benjie Hodges and Jerry Stover will serve as pallbearers.Members of the Wilkes County Sherriff’s Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Smith Rogers; sons, Christopher and Jonathan Rogers; daughter, Jill Rogers; Mother, Marjorie Rogers; brothers and sisters in law, Clyde and Sissy Rogers, Darrell and Helen Rogers and Greg and Allison Rogers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7-9pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home,P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, Ga 30281, American Kidney Association or Tignall Baptist Church
