Mrs. Gladys Smith Hoffman, 95, of N. Alexander Ave., died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Wills Memorial Hospital. She was born in Washington, GA and lived here all of her life.She was the wife of the late Aage Hoffman, and was the daughter of Thomas W. Smith and Nannie Overstreet Smith.She was a homemaker and a member of the Lakeside Bible Chapel in Lincolnton.Mrs. Hoffman was a self- taught artist and had a passion for painting. Pallbearers will be Gregory Denard, Bazz Ezell, Jon-Paul Hoffman, David Bridges, Glenn Denard,andJason Hunnicutt. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by two sons, Richard (Carol) Hoffman, of Little River, SC, and Robert Hoffman, of Sao Paulo, Brazil;two daughters, Beth (Tommy) Bunch, and Judy (Greg) Denard, both of Washington; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Denard, Jon-Paul Hoffman, Lynn Meakim, Michael Hoffman, Audrea Ezell, Gregory Denard, Bonnie Hunnicutt, and Lauren Bridges; fourteen great grandchildren,and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jon Bunch. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
