James Manuel Wheatley

Washington: Mr. James Manuel Wheatley, 72, of the Metasville Community, died June 14, 2012 in MCG Hospital.A native of Washington, Georgia, he was the son of Leonard Bostic and Mattie Maude Thornton Wheatley.Mr. Wheatley was a self-employed beef cattle farmer and grading contractor.He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Callaway Wheatley, two brothers, George and Thomas Wheatley and brother in law, Boyce Hopkins. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 17th at 4:00pm in Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Rayner and Rev. Jim Newsome officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Claude McKellar, Charlie McAvoy, Johnny Newberry, Lawrence Mayo, Tommy McDowell, Tommy Garrett, David McAvoy and Doug Holder will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy (Elaine) Wheatley, Washington, and Scott (Angie) Wheatley, Homer; two daughters, Denise W. (Tracy) Armour, Rayle and Traci W. (Danny) Bussey, Lincolnton; brother, Stanley (Katherine) Wheatley, Washington; sisters, Talitha W. Hopkins, Washington and Irene W. (Milton) Rafini, Anderson, S.C.; sisters in law, Sara and Christine Wheatley; eight grandchildren, Brandon Wheatley, Jonathan R. Wheatley, Justin W. Armour, Ethan T. Armour, Jackson K. Armour, Brett Bussey, Ashleigh Bussey and Luke Wheatley; three great grandchildren, Addie Armour, Hally Wheatley and Aydan James Bussey. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, c/o Stanley Wheatley, 403 Wheatley Rd., Washington, Ga. 30673.
