Katherine Marie Pullum, a beloved resident of Washington, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at Wills Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Bakersfield, California, on Wednesday March 24, 1937, she was surrounded by love and family throughout her life and in her final days.
Katherine was preceded in death by her loving parents, Arthur Anderson and Mildred Cantrell; her devoted husband of 68 years, Paul Pullum; her sons Kenneth and James Pullum; two precious grandchildren, Timothy Pullum and Stephanie Pullum, three sisters and two brothers. Her strength and independence were pillars for her family, as she carried the memory and lessons of her loved ones with her always.
In her earlier days, Katherine owned and operated her own school bus transportation company in Jacksonville, Florida, exemplifying her entrepreneurial spirit. After settling in Georgia, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating her career to serving others in Baldwin, Georgia. Alongside her late husband, Paul, she took on the rewarding challenge of managing a poultry farm in Cornelia, Georgia.
Katherine will be dearly missed by her children, Richard Pullum of Washington, Georgia, and Mary Fisher and her husband, Jerry, of Clarksville, Georgia. She leaves behind a legacy carried forth by her 10 grandsons, a granddaughter, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Each will continue to honor her memory, sharing her love, wisdom, and resilience.
Katherine’s life and legacy will be celebrated at Rehoboth Baptist Church, where visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM led by Rev. Adam Deaton. Interment will subsequently occur in the church cemetery. Katherine will be laid to rest beside her husband, Paul, as she wished, where they will share eternal peace together.
Katherine enriched the lives of those who knew her through acts of kindness, her sense of responsibility, and her unwavering independence. She leaves an enduring imprint on the hearts of her family, friends, and community. She will be missed dearly, but her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
