Ms. Louise Fanning Brown Smith, 103, formerly of Tignall, passed away from this life at Elbert Memorial Hospital Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. Ms. Smith was born on September 22, 1914, in Washington, Ga. and lived over 75 years in Tignall, Ga.She was truly blessed to be 103 years old, and was a delightful blessing to all those who knew and loved her.She was the daughter of Young Bryan Brown and Lillie Pearl Cosby Brown, and was the widow of Charles M.Smith. She attended Washington High School, and had worked at ALMAR Mfg. Co. for 23 years.She was a longtime member of the Tignall Independence United Methodist Church and of the Tignall Homemaker’s Club. She loved her family, loved to cook (and was an excellent cook), and enjoyed quilting.She also enjoyed reading (especially the News Reporter), watching “her stories” on TV, and listening to music.She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing her life’s stories and experiences, along with her insights and advice.She wisely said in her approach to life, “I don’t worry until I have cause”. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by nine siblings: James Brown, Ellen Brown McClearen, Arnold “Doc” Brown, Claude S. Brown, Walter E. Brown, Grace Brown Long, Reba Brown Baggett Pounds, Anne Brown Kimsey, and Sam Brown. She is survived by her four sons and their families; Charles M. Smith, Jr. (Elizabeth), Sandtown, Ga., Morgan E. Smith (Sandra), Hiawassee, Ga, Graham Y. Smith (Glenda), of Snellville, Ga., and Jon I. Smith, of Fortsonia, Ga.; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Tignall Independence UMC with Rev.
