Mary Catherine Drew Hall, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home in Washington, Georgia. Born on November 26, 1943, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mary lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Mary graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1962 and continued her education at Bolen’s Business School later that year. She began her career at General Finance in Augusta, Georgia, and later worked at Oxford Manufacturing in Lincolnton and Kingsley Mill in Thomson, Georgia. Mary devoted several years to caring for her children at home before returning to the workforce at A&P. She later served as a School Nutritionist with the Wilkes County Board of Education in Washington, Georgia, retiring in 2006 after 27 years of faithful service.

Mary was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. Her legacy of love and compassion will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Curtis Hall, whom she married on December 14, 1963. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their children: Tonya Sawyer and husband John of Seneca, SC; Wade Hall and wife Renee; and Rhonda Roberson and husband Tommy, both of Washington, GA. Mary was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Kayley Moon (Brady), Aubrey Sawyer, Lathan Roberson (Sarah Gayle), Samuel Sawyer, Josiah Sawyer, Amelia Ruth Hall and a great-grandmother to Annabelle Lea Roberson and Jasper James Moon. She is also survived by her brother, James Thomas Drew (Paula) of Lincolnton, Georgia; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by her family and cherished the time spent with them.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Eugene Drew Sr. and Hetty Catherine Drew, and her brother, Horace Eugene Drew Jr.

A visitation will be held on May 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at the Hall Family Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Wright and Reverend Mark Woods. Pallbearers will be Jon Drew, Samuel Sawyer, Lathan Roberson, Wade Dunnaway, Josiah Sawyer, and Brady Moon. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Wheatley, Raleigh Long, John Echols, and Donnie Burgess.
