Ramona Frances Thomas

Ramona “Ronnie” Frances Thomas, age 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Born on May 18, 1929, in Rogersville, Alabama, she lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to her family and education.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Harris Davis and Herschel Davis, and her husband, Rowland Farr Thomas Jr.

Ramona earned her bachelor’s degree and spent many years teaching English, inspiring and encouraging her students through her love of learning and literature.

She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, and creating Ukrainian eggs, hobbies that brought her great happiness throughout her life.

Ramona will be remembered for her wisdom, kindness, and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Rowland Glenn Thomas of Louisiana; her daughter, Susannah Thomas Johnson of Washington, Georgia; and her three grandchildren, Andrea Nicole Tverzczuk (Jamie), Sarah Elizabeth Thomas (Thomas Sotomayor), and Rachel Lynne Thomas.
