Troy Chafin

Troy Chafin Mr. Troy M. Chafin, 75, of Rayle, died December 22, 2009 in the V.A. Hospital in Augusta. He was a native of Wilkes county and lived here all his life.Mr. Chafin was the son of the late Miles and Willie Pearl Gresham Chafin.He served in the U.S. Army and was a truck drive. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00am at Rock UMC cemetery with Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley Chafin; sons and daughters in law, Mack and Susan Chafin, Washington, and Ronnie Chafin and Raquel Johnson, Rayle; daughters and sons in law, Sheila and Ken Arnold, Lexington, Terri Diaz, Rayle and Tangie Chafin and Eric Archer, Washington; Brothers, Pete Chafin, Augusta, Malcolm Chafin, Washington and Alvin Chafin, Washington; Sisters, Jean Davenport and Nell Turpin, both of Washington; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock UMC.
