Woods Wilson Huff, of Washington, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on August 18, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, Woods spent his later years in Washington, Georgia, where he became a cherished member of the community through his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Woods proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he devoted his professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse. His compassion and dedication were evident through his work as an EMT with Wilkes County EMS, where he touched countless lives through his skill, kindness, and unwavering care. He also faithfully served as a volunteer firefighter with the Washington Fire Department, always willing to answer the call to protect and support his community.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Sparks Huff, who shared life’s journey by his side. He also leaves behind his children, Jason Hooton and wife Jennifer of Grovetown, Georgia, and Miranda Cushman and husband Scott of Evans, Georgia. Woods was a proud papa to Kirsten, Courtney, Caidence, and Araylia, each of whom brought great joy to his life.

Woods is also survived by his siblings, Bobby Lynn Billingsley of Como, Mississippi, and Mary Wilson Huff of Savannah, Georgia, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Woods’ life was defined by service, compassion, and love for others. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A private service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate his life.
