Mrs. Betty Jean Palmer

March 15, 1931 - January 29, 2015

Mrs. Betty Jean Guest Palmer, 83, of Lexington, passed away January 29, 2015 at her home. A native of Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late Plumer and Jennie Dickerson Guest. Mrs. Palmer owned an alterations shop with her sister, doing apparel alterations. She was the widow of Nathaniel Palmer. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 1st at 11:00a.m. in the Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Ty Sorrow and Rev. Jeffrey Gailey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Len Thomas, Lance Thomas, Joe Arnold, Chuck Orr, Ryan Taylor and Greg Sisk will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one son, Randy Palmer and his fiancé Brandy Holder, of Lexington; one sister, Phyllis Thomas, of Athens; four grandchildren, Clint Bryant, of Stephens, Chance Palmer, David Holder and Cheyenne Holder, all of Lexington; and three great grandchildren, Brock Bryant, Sarabelle Greeson and Gracie Greeson. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
