Mr. James Ed Myers

February 18, 1935 - February 15, 2013

Washington: Mr. James Edward (Ed) Myers, 77, of 4077 Metasville Rd., died Friday, February 15, 2013. Mr. Myers was a native of Wilkes County, was the son of the late Otis and Addie Bell Rainwater Myers, and was the husband of Mary Swint Myers. He was owner/operator of Myers Auto Parts in Washington for a number of years, and also operated Myers Truck Parts in Metasville. He was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, LeRoy, and Bobby Myers. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dan Fernandez officiating. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Mayo, Bernie Henderson, Jimmy Wheatley, Larry Norman, Thomas Roth, and Wade Hall. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Mary Swint Myers, of Lake Crossing Nursing Home; one daughter, Mary A. Powell(Joe), of Lincolnton; two sons, Ed Myers, Jr.(Cynthia), of Plumas Lake, CA, and Billy Adams(Pat), of Columbia, SC; and two sisters, Gladys M. Roth(Thomas), and Sara M. Lamar, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Brandi Dozier, Larry Norman, Jr. Renee Norman Savage, Robert Shawn Norman, and Lisa Adams; seven great grandchildren; and by his faithful caregiver, Jordan Ivey. The family will receive friends at Hopkins Funeral Home on Monday, February 18, 2013, from 6-8 pm. www.hopkinsfuneralhome.com
