Mr. Jesse Wills Moore

July 14, 1939 - November 14, 2020

Mr. Jesse Wills Moore, 81, of Orr Rd. in Washington, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at his home surrounded by family. Jesse was born in Washington to Edward and Roma Gunn Moore, and was the husband of Connie Evans Moore. He was a Georgia Southern College graduate, taught high school math from 1961-1963, and then served in the U.S. Army around the start of the Vietnam War. He was a fifty year Mason and member of Lafayette Lodge #23 in Washington, and was a Gideon. He was a Georgia State Patrolman for 26 years before he retired. He was a member of the Raytown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Connie E. Moore, of Washington; one daughter, Jennifer M. Wilson, of Washington; one son, Michael Moore, and wife Denise, of Washington; four grandchildren, Trent Wilson, Evan Moore, Emma Moore, and Aaron Moore; one sister, Delores M. McCabe; and six brothers, Jimmy Moore (Jean), Jene Moore (Joyce), Jerry Moore (Carol), Larry Moore (Margie), Marvin Moore (Bobbie), and Mahlon Moore (Gayle). Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 2:00pm at the Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods, Rev. Jamie Callaway, and Michael Moore officiating. Visitation will be at Phillips Mill Baptist Church from 1:00pm until the time of the service on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Raytown Baptist Church Cemetery in Taliaferro County. Active Pallbearers will be Jesse’s brothers, honorary pallbearers will be local Georgia State Patrolmen, and the Georgia State Patrol Honor Guard will provide funeral honors at the cemetery.
